PRE-TANNED BISON, ELK, COWHIDE LEATHERS
PEBBLED BISON LEATHER -
These beautiful high quality full grain leathers are 3-5 oz in weight and are USA harvested and USA tanned using North America Bison.
Bison is known as one of the heaviest leathers. It is notorious for its strength, durability, and is much more "tough" than deer and elk leather making it great for products that may encounter more wear and tear.
These are the slouchiest and softest hide option offered here and they provide an immediate slouchy vintage look to each product.
Predominant grain texture.
Durable.
A lot of these hides have very unique imperfections on the hides like scratches, rashes, or bug bites once on the animal. We honor these characteristics.
This is a great leather to create all our style bags and pouches.
Not ideal for wallets, it’s too soft.
PONTENDERO COWHIDE LEATHERS -
These Italian Double Shoulder leathers are 3/4oz, full-grain, veg-tanned cowhide that have been hand-stained.
Vegetable tanned leather takes up to two months to develop in a process that is mainly done by hand. It requires skill, patience and care and the tanning process uses no harmful chemicals.
It is a semi-pliable leather with a subtle texture that has minimal stretch and a very light pull-up effect.
This leather has been finished using traditional, old-world methods in Firenze, Italy.
This is a great leather to create our style bags, pouches, and wallets.
PULL UP COWHIDE LEATHERS -
Chrome tanned leather produced using a solution of chemicals, acids and salts to dye the hide.
Distressed look with a slight pull-up effect.
The waxy finish makes this cowhide robust as well as soft to the touch.
It will naturally scratch and crease, developing a vintage-looking patina over time.
Color may vary significantly from hide to hide.
Ideal for bags, pouches, and wallets.
HAND DYED COWHIDE LEATHERS
HAND DYED VEGTAN COWHIDE LEATHER -
Vegetable tanned leather takes up to two months to develop in a process that is mainly done by hand. It requires skill, patience and care and the tanning process uses no harmful chemicals.
We use a water based leather dye to hand dye unique solid colors or 2 color ombre finishes onto dense Brazilian 3/4oz vegetable tanned cowhide.
Over time the hand dyed leather products inherit a faded, worn-in slouchy, glossy patina, and vintage distressed look.
This is a great leather to create all our style bags, pouches and structured wallets.
Color may vary significantly from hide to hide due to the hand dyed nature.

CRISS CROSS HAND-STITCHING - Personally, the hand-stitching looks and adds a rich look with such a rock n’ roll vibe to any Bird Trouble style! It is a labor of love and we think it’s way special.
SIMPLE BLACK LEATHER HANDLES - For those who love to carry their bag on their wrist or at their elbow. Lifestyle option! 12” long x 1” wide strap with about 10” long handling space.
PUFFY HANDLES WITH HAND-STITCHING - Detailed hand-stitched cotton filled handles handmade with the leather you choose for your bag. These are a labor of love and take a lot of time to start and finish. 12” long with about 10” long handling space.
CONE STUDS - Cone studs that match your chosen hardware will be applied by hand on a lovely location on the exterior of your Bird Trouble.
FRINGE OPTIONS
LUXE FRINGE - Our classic option is the beautiful luxe fringe. It is cut from a 2oz black soft lightly grained cowhide leather that flows just right!
HAND DYED 1 SIDE COAL FRINGE - This option is the hand dyed 1 side coal raw fringe. It is cut from a 3/4oz vegtan cowhide leather. The raw fringe is stiff at arrival but as it softens, you will see it soften and “flip” to show the undyed natural side.
HAND DYED BOTH SIDES COAL FRINGE - This option is the hand dyed both side coal raw fringe. It is cut from a 3/4oz vegtan cowhide leather. The raw fringe is stiff at arrival but as it softens, you will see it soften and “flip”.
BLACK PEBBLED BISON LEATHER FRINGE - The bison leather fringe will be cut from a luscious 3/4oz bison USA tanned + harvested leather.
TOBACCO PEBBLED BISON LEATHER FRINGE - The bison leather fringe will be cut from a luscious 3/4oz bison USA tanned + harvested leather.
WHITE PEBBLED COWHIDE LEATHER FRINGE - This is a dense chrome-tanned white leather fringe option and is made from a 4/5oz thick cowhide.
HAND DYED COWHIDE CUSTOM FRINGE - This option is for custom hand dyed fringe. You’ll choose any of the colors from the list of: hand dyed cowhide colors. These colors can be on the front or on the back. ***note: additional charges may occur if the dye job is complicated or requires multiple colors.
