Travel Inspiration | Rest & Self-Care

I'm in Colorado for a week.  I finished most of my standing orders and shipped them out my last few hours in Chicago.  Now that I've been in Colorado for a full 2 days, I'm feeling that I definitely needed to recharge myself with a beautiful trip to nature.  I need this time.

The older I get, the more I realize that Chicago's city hustle + bustle can easily suck the inspiration right out of me.  Man, do I love the city's magic and the city's support, but the go-go-go lifestyle takes a lot of stamina.  Do you feel the same way?  Where do we find the time to be inspired when we have 1-3 jobs (most of us work more to live in a city), a social life, self-care, and like most of my friends - taking big life steps like planning a wedding or expecting a child?

For myself, possibly it is the city's energy that never fails to boost my monkey brain.  You know the monkey brain thoughts that go something like this...

I have to do this, I have to do that, things have to be like this, I wish... I wish... I wish things were like this, I’m not good enough to do that, I’ll never be able to have this, or that... and I wish I had what they had...

Does that sound familiar?  I find that resting time is most essential for any human to separate themselves from these thoughts, to simply REST.  For me to get back to a state of low ego, more flow, less thoughts, and more creating a lovely life and more lovely Bird Trouble bags... I must recharge.

Now, you.  Don't worry.  Rest.  Recharge.  Give yourself some mental self-care and get back on that grind of life.  Know that right now we are doing exactly what we should be doing and know that it's okay to gently remind ourselves of that.
